This world that we imagine in this room, might be used to gain access to other rooms, other worlds, previously unimaginable

This world that we imagine in this room, might be used to gain access to other rooms, other worlds, previously unimaginable is an array of dances, sentences, and situations that unfold within the tension between one performer, an empty stage, and the audience.

The performance is a photocopy-like flash in the tubular space of Kiasma Theatre, a grainy zoom into the leakage points between realities. At its core lies the desire to use the performance situation as a portal to formerly unknown spaces, states and dimensions.

The premiere at Kiasma Theatre is part of a larger series of works by Venna, parts of which, bearing the same name, were seen at the Drifts Festival at Stoa and Taidekoti Kirpilä in 2022.

The title of the work is a quote from the film director Lana Wachowski.
